No amount criticism will ever waver the loyalty and the continued support towards Fiji Airways 7s team.
The view is that of Ivor Evans, the host of Vancouver’s popular Radio S1 Dhamaka’s Sports Talkback Show and fromer Fiji national soccer player.
“We Fijians seem to take it to heart whenever the team loses”, he said.
“People criticize as the emotions takes the better of them but it’s the unwavering love that have them wholeheartedly support the team.
“We are, after-all Fijians. We love our rugby. We don’t hold it for long”.
Ivor said the Rugby World Cup Sevens will draw huge North American fans, Canadian and Americans in San Francisco.
He said during the Vancouver Sevens, Fijians from across the Canada filled the BC. Place Stadium to capacity and hundreds will travel South to root for the team.
Ivor says Fiji has the players to win the Rugby World Cup Sevens, added the team must be focused to get the country its third championship, they won it in 1997 and 2005.
“2018 RWC7s could well be the last chance for Leone Nakarawa, Semi Kunatani, Semi Radradra, Jasa Veremalua, Vatemo Ravouvou , Eroni Sau and Jerry Tuwai and a few.
“Age is catching up and possible overseas contacts will attract many players”, said Ivor, who will be Radio S1 Dhamaka’s analyst at the RWC7s.
