It will culminate with crowning of the new world champion.
We have seen big name teams and stars flounder under pressure, wild upsets, controversial calls to late goals.
But now it all comes down to the grand finale between France and Croatia.
The two teams have earned the spot after their semifinal wins.
France beat Belgium 1-0 and Croatia won over England 2-1.
While some of the game’s best know how’s have gone wrong with their predictions, a former Fijian All star defender is wagering on France to win the 2018 World Cup.
Ronald Singh says France has a squad chock-full of talent, pace and variation, as well as a tactical maturity under coach Didier Deschamps.
“The danger with France is that it has such a litany of stars that anyone could step up to be counted on the day”, he said.
