GET your unique costumes ready and win yourself a cool $1000 during the Canada Sevens at the weekend.
A Burnaby, British Columbia pharmaceutical company has partnered with S1 Sports by offering fans a cash prize of $500 a day for the best costume display during the Canada Sevens.
Pure Integrative Pharmacy manager, Rohini Deo who is an avid sevens fan, says the monetary offer will extract the best out of Fijians in terms of costume, get noticed and at the same time win cash.
“There’s national pride, and then there’s costumes that pride the fans”, said Deo.
“Sporting fans around Canada go to lengthens to honor and often lampoon their nation symbols, we have given Fiji 7s fans the same opportunity.
“Sevens has a huge following among Canadian Fijians since the inaugural Canada Sevens and we feel the need to kick it up a notch to the already attire frenzy event”.
Deo said the spirited fan and or fans will be identified through the overhead jumbotron, in the stands and the concourse area who would then be reached out and declared the winner for each day.
S1 spokesman, Subramani Reddy said the offer can’t be beat as it gives real time Fijian fans to show their true patriotism in the way of attires that attract.
“It’s a cool $1000 to be won”.
Reddy said the agreement between Pure Integrative Pharmacy and S1 Sports is unique and for years to come.
“The idea stemmed after seeing colorful and some funny costumes in the last three years’ running of the Vancouver Sevens”.
The weekend long, March 9-10, Canada Sevens gets underway on Saturday, ending with the crowning of the champion on Sunday.
