FIJI’S Honorary Consul to Canada, Bobby Naicker hosted Fiji Airways Fijian Men’s 7s team to a private dinner last night.
The players and the coaching staff were treated to a fine Canadian cuisine at Vancouver’s popular eatery, Denny’s on Broadway.
“It’s always a pleasure to host our Fijian national team”, said Bobby.
“These are our heroes who give their all for Fiji. Dinner is just a small token of appreciation, they deserve more”.
Sevens legend Waisale Serevi, told the players of the task ahead, added as the defending champions the boys need to play as champions on the weekend.
“You’re a great team. And the defending champion of Canada Sevens”, he said.
“You need to focus on the task ahead, play as champions, get motivated play as a team and for one another, win it for Fiji”.
Head coach Gareth Baber thanked Bobby Naicker and his family for the kind hospitality.
He said Vancouver is special for him and his team as he thanked everyone for all the support.
“You have always given us good time in Vancouver.
“The boys were pleasantly surprised at tonight’s dinner treat.
“Thank you Bobby (Naicker) for everything. We can’t thank you enough”, said Baber, as he presented a gift of appreciation.
