IF you think Fijian sevens fans will be outnumbered during the Canada Sevens than you’re wrong.
The lower mainlanders will be joined by the hundreds that are coming in the droves from across Canada.
Diehards from the Alberta Province, Edmonton and Calgary and Toronto will be represented.
Fans from around Seattle, Portland and California States also make the trip.
And since the inaugural event in 2016, Fijians have made a statement for being the loudest against any other nations in the weekend long event.
With the blue and white garbs, the flag bearing fans are ready for the Canada Sevens extravaganza.
Salendra Raj says there is always that oozing confidence in the team despite the LA 7s final loss to South Africa.
“Fijians are rugby loving people”, said Edmonton’s Raj, who had bus-pooled for 12 hours with 10 friends.
“We always have confidence in the team. Ask a Fijian and they will tell you exactly how they feel about the team and their top choice to win the tournament”.
Levi Tamanavena has travelled from Seattle, Washington, says he never doubts the team even if they’re having a bad spell or a game.
“It may sound like over the top statements, but Fiji can only be beaten through complacency, really”, he said.
Levi said all the team needs to do is remain focused and play smart and for one another as a team”.
Canada Sevens says Fijians make the biggest backdrop at the BC Place Stadium.
Over 20,000 made the last four, (2016-2019) running of the Canada Sevens.
