Former national reps, work on constitution

Former Fiji rep, John GreyTHE Ex Fiji Football Representative Players Association is in the middle of formulating a draft constitution.

The final constitution will serve as the legal law of the fraternity, the idea of the organization was mooted by Nemani Waka, the former national and quadruple district, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba and Nadroga footballer.

The body will be registered in compliance with laws of the country.

Former national footballer Marika Ravula (Mark) is bestowed with the honour of drafting the constitution, assisting is former national footballer John Grey.

In an electronic email, coordinator Grey said once the constitution is made available, it will be deliberated and adopted during the annual general meeting and launched ahead of the 2020 Inter District Championship (IDC).

“All former Fiji reps from around Fiji and overseas can obtain memberships”.

Grey said the fraternity is also eying a reunion in 2020-2021 to coincide will the IDC.

“We will use the opportunity to plan and corroborate a reunion with Fiji Football Association to celebrate the launch of player’s entity”.

“To discuss avenues with FFA yet maintain independence given that FFA has recently initiated honoring ex- players and proposal to assist further the players benevolence”.

Grey said the former representatives need to set new goals to assist and protect the needy brothers, share their stories of wisdom, enhance the history of the game and to support future reps.

“The objective of the entity is to raise funds through membership fees, donations and to protect and provide due care to its registered members”.
