Fiji to win Olympic gold, diehards

Fiji 7s diehard fans, Mahabub and SahibCANADIAN Fijian sevens fans are betting on Team Fiji men’s sevens team to retain the gold at the Tokyo Olympics.

Sameer Sahib and Mira Mahabub say they had visions of the team making it to the podium and sending Fijians on ecstasy celebrations, much like they had after winning the 2016 Rio Olympics gold.

“I had strong visions and believe me, Fiji is bringing the gold back to its rightful place”, said Sahib.

“I put my money on Fiji to win the gold”.

Sahib said he was over the top celebrating Fiji’s historic Rio Olympic gold win in Brazil, and is all worked up for another celebration.

“I’m ready to do it all over again. I’m confident Fiji will reclaim the gold in Tokyo, Japan”.

Fiji released the world’s first $7 note following the nation’s first Olympic gold in any sport.

“The $7 note is a memento, I’ve one on me, let’s do up another $7 note”, Sahib said.

Mahabub, who migrated to Canada in 1971, turned huge sevens fan, following Fiji’s 2016 Rio Olympic win, said his former countrymen will replicate the 2016 Rio Olympic gold.

“Fiji it is all the way”.

“I’m a Canadian Fijian, Fijian at heart.

“I’m for another $7 note, we want team Fiji and head coach Gareth Baber on it”.
