WITH the clock ticking down to the 2-day Battle of the Giants football, the excitement is palpable.
And with inclusion of guest players and teams from outside of Vancouver, the rejuvenated event is expected to be competitive and draw huge fanfare.
Fijian football great Abdul Mannan dropped the marker on the event as a celebration of Fijian community.
“It’s not just a celebration of football, it’s a celebration of our Fijian community,” he said in a social commentary.
Guest players
Edmonton Ba has included Lautoka midfield maestro Zibraaz Sahib and Rewa’s Samuela Kautoga to stake a legitimate claim to the title.
Local representatives
Nadi, Suva, Labasa, Nadroga, and Ba with local footballers have set their sights on winning the title.
The Vancouver teams have a fair representation on skills and experience.
The weekend long tournament is scheduled for McLeod Athletic Park.
