Excitement builds up for Jayden-Jordan Memorial Cup

THE Jayden and Jordan celebration of life football tournament is back for the third consecutive year.

The weekend-long event will feature a carnival like atmosphere, with free food and refreshments, children’s activities, and entertainment.

Raju Sharma, a family spokesman said the idea hit upon to remember Jayden and Jordan by organizing a ‘memorial tournament’ and following the inaugural event in 2023, the family decided to keep the tradition alive.

“We started the tournament in 2023, and with the huge response from friends and supporters we grew strength to strength,” he said.

Sharma said the tournament retains the all-Fijian theme for player participation and there isn’t even a suggestion to include imports.

“We plan to keep the way it is, local and Fijian heritage.”

Surrey Stars beat Rewa 3-1 to win last year’s championship.

The Jayden-Jordan memorial football tournament will be played at Gladstone Field in Surrey.
